I just got this 2000 trans am six speed. I have only had 2nd and third gen trans ams before. around 8 total.

the first day I had it I took it to the car wash. touchless with under spray.
well now it idles fine. starts fine. drives kinda ok. but as soon as I floor it it doesn't run well at all. kinda hesitates and misses.

how do I test things. im thinking of replacing
wires
plugs
front o2 sensors
clean maf
coil pacs?
I replaced the fuel filter didn't help

it has 114 kilometers not miles

sucks I just got it and already I screwed it up

what is most common issue when you get engine wet?
what are most common electrical parts that go bad?

Yea, definitely check wires for tears, pull spark plugs out and check for damage/carbon build etc..
Maybe check your alternator by using a multimeter on the battery.

At least if its a spark issue, you can limp home unlike a bad alt.....and end up paying to be towed home.
2 weeks ago... found out my alternator was bad in my ws6 and had same issues as you

I doubt that you screwed it up.

The ignition coils rarely go bad. Do a proper tune up, wires, plugs, fluids, filters, check the MAF screen for junk, the throttle body for dirt.

MSD wires are good, stay away from Taylor wires. ACDelco plugs #12.

NO FRAM OIL FILTERS.

Never ever ever take a nice car to an auto car wash. The sprays are high pressure and can ruin light assemblys and spray in areas you don't want water to enter and they seem to always find a way to get water in your rear tail light assemblies... Auto Car washes are for SUV's, Mini Vans, and Trucks... vehicles you don't give a crap about.

No Codes? An 02 issue or a bad miss will usually trigger a Code. Of course when I forgot to plug in a spark plug wire I didn't get a code running on 7 cylinders for a bit.

IF no code then its hand checking everything and replacing culprits which would cause the type for problem from cheap to expensive. I'd hook up an OBII reader and see what cylinder or cylinders are missing. You can get them dirt cheap on Ebay.

I replaced the plugs. Had bosh with 4 prongs. Put ngk tr55 in
Put ngk O2 sensor drivers front
Fuel filter

Still the same

New in the box for $115 shipped. Hope not fake somehow.

Just when I floor it nothing really happens. Like a car with 140 hp
But idles perfect. No smoke no noise not burning oil low mileage

OBII reader is your preference. Super cheap ones are on Ebay. Just ensure the one you choose can read and clear codes. Also any handheld tuner can do the same if your planning to get one.
