Default 02 Firehawk 400+ hp OR LS1 FD RX7??

I currently own a beautiful 6 speed SLP Firehawk fully loaded with all the rare SLP options, has a large cam and nice set up. 75k miles.... Really thinking about selling it for a clean LS1 swapped FD RX7 with a beefy drive train.

FDs look awesome and whatever my Firehawk can do, the FD can do better with an LS1. Really sounds like a lot more fun to drive than my boat. But I love my Firehawk.. And I know an 02 Firehawk (rarest version, last year of an extinct car from a dead company) will be worth a lot someday..... Would I be dumb to sell my car?

On the other hand, FD rollers cost about $8k themselves. Just don't want to make a dumb choice. Any friendly advice is welcome! Merry Christmas

As someone who recently purchased a Firehawk, just for the reasons you posted above, (plus its a damn sexy car) I'd say keep the Hawk.

But sometimes you need something new and it might be time to let someone else enjoy her... Good luck with your decision.

This is literally the only car I'd consider selling the hawk for. Hawks are sexy, but fbodys are everywhere.. Kind of like spending the money on a gt500 but to many it still looks like Just another mustang lol. The FD is the Corvette.. Valuable version of an entry level sports car or upgrade.. ughh

Well in my opinion u cant look at it like a normal Fbody.

Where I live I never see another 4th gen TA, let alone a Hawk...

Camaros yea they're around but meh, not even in the ballpark on the sexy meter, and still not a lot of them.

But if the FD is what you want.... Go get your car man.

Yeah, you're right about that. Firehawks are only going to go up in value, but so are FDs. I see the 2002 Hawk being worth more in the future but the LSX FD being way more fun to drive. Going to change the heads to ported 5.3s, remove cats, bigger intake and shoot for 440-450 rwhp if I keep her... But 450 rwhp in a 2800lb car would probably feel like 600 rwhp in the 3600lb fbody -____-

Beautiful Hawk by the way, I rally wanted a black one. What year is yours?

Its an 02 as well... Stock has a few more miles (82g) than I was originally looking for, and had some issues I've be rectifying... but to me she's a keeper.

But I'm not looking for a high HP ride... I'm a little bit old school so the exclusivity of the Hawk appeals to me.

I was looking for a stock one, but the previous owner total probably had $4-5k wrapped up in the car. After buying it that way and learning to drive stick on it I've become pretty hooked on speed. Could always revert to stock in the future.. it's too much fun to think that way now lol. What was wrong with it? You have the deck lid too, correct?

By deck lid, I think you mean IROC spoiler? If yes, then yes we both have the IROC spoiler.

Plenty of cars out there that are collectors. Questions are: Are u ready for one? and Does the one u have qualify as one? Only you can answer the first and only time will answer the second...

My advice is buy and drive what u like or think u like... but not every change or upgrade is a good one.
