Default 2002 ws6 #3392

Well this is my second WS6. The first was a 2001 WS6 #4541. I shouldn't have ever gotten rid of it. So several years later I asked my daughter which car she would like for me to get again. I showed her a picture of a 2010 Camaro SS, and a 2007 Vette. She looks at it and you can see the wheels turning in her head. She answers she would like another WS6. Well that made my day, so now I was looking for a low mileage WS6. A few days later I find this SOM WS6 in FL with 20,400, after some wheeling and dealing I was headed there to trade my 2007 Trail Blazer SS in for it.

I had to use it as a dd for a couple of years, but now I can keep it up and start doing some work to it. First was a SLP lid, second was pretty easy to figure out. My slave cylinder went out so I went a head and replaced that, along with a new Monster Stage 3 clutch, and a Master Cylinder from Tick. The new clutch is awesome.

So now I am at a cross roads. My WS6 #4541 was a fully built Procharged 642 rwhp, 577 rwtq monster. I loved that car. Now I really don't know which way I want to build this one. I would love to do a 418 or a 427 NA build. But I keep going back and looking and thinking of doing another Procharge build. I love the driveablitiy while out just cruising, but then when I went to the track and could reel off mid 10 second passes was pretty awesome!

Decisions, decisions!!!

Also when I bought the car it had the bird on the hood. In the picture's at first I wasn't to impressed with it, but when I saw it in person it was very well done, and will stay on there now.

Congrats on your new WS6 -

I did the same thing, sold my 2001 and wished I would have kept it... Purchased a 2002 WS6 and these cars still get compliments 15 years later...

I went and weighed it yesterday. Came in at 3540lbs. This one weighs 5lbs more than my 2001 WS6 did. The only thing this one has that the 2001 didn't was 12 disk changer, and TC, and the TT2's. 3540 is with a full tank of gas also.

Good deal! I do like the bird on the hood. People who can airbrush have amazing talents.

Just ordered the MGW short throw. I had a B&M Ripper on my last one, and liked it. From what I have read and studied sounds like the MGW is better. Let you know what I think once I got it on, and get a few miles on it.

Very happy with the MGW. Good firm shifts, solid feel. Installation was easy, the product very well put together. This was my third short throw install, first for a MGW, others were B&M Rippers.

If the weather holds out I will be taking the WS6 to the track. With my 2001 I had the best I got out of it with zero mods was a 13.25. Hopefully I can do the same or better, with the lid and new clutch.

I just ordered my Koni Sport Set shocks. I already had the Strano springs. Hopefully the springs will be here this week and I can get them both installed before the weekend.

The next thing I am going to do is put Strano springs and Koni Sport shocks on. Got the Koni's in today. Want to thank Strano for there fast service and answering my questions that I had. Maybe next week before I get all this on. I am going to take a before and after pic's going around a curve to see how much the new shocks and springs help. Also I want to thank my Ferret Babe for modeling with the new parts. She is very curious and had to check everything out for me.

Here are two pictures that we took today. What I am hoping to do is after I get the springs and shocks done is to have a before and after pictures so everyone can see the difference in body roll.

Well I have got my next mod. I use to have the BGRA on my 2001 WS6. I loved it. I picked up almost 2mph, and shaved almost .2 tenths in the 1/4 with it. So I went and bought a JAAM. It should be here next week, and I hope to get JAAM installed and tested before I do the other mods that I have. I will post results after even if it doesn't perform like the BGRA.

I haven't installed any of my stuff as of yet. But what I did get done today was get my WS6 on the dyno. Want to thank Speedydyno for getting me in on short notice. Not bad for the mods that I have. Also I got 27 mpg round trip!

I installed my JAAM today. Looks good, easy install. Just need to find where to buy the rubber seals that came with BGRA, and I will be good to go. If any one knows where I can find them let me know please.
One thing I wish it had was the funnel that goes inside the hood like the BGRA did.

Installed my Koni yellows, Strano springs, BMR Panhard rod relocation bracket and BMR Pan Hard Rod, along with my 160 thermostat. Handles so much better, and looks so much better also. Very happy with how the build is going. Much thanks to Sam Strano for helping me answer questions that I had, also some forum members also.
