Nice car. You found the right seller (multiple cars to sell soon + no personal attachment), right time (dead of winter), and the right price $14,500. At the listed price the car was a very good deal for an '02 M6. The lower mileage M6's are bringing at least $1K (sometimes $2K) more than the A4's. I'd have figured this car a solid deal at $15K. A dealer would have been asking $16K-$17K as soon as spring time rolled around. You just happened to find the right car from a seller who really didn't know the exact market for one of these. And if they were going by the mileage premium in KBB and NADA, then they undervalued the car by $2K-$3K. Those guides give almost no additional mileage premium under 60K miles....which is totally bogus. So that's basically the extra $2500 you got to keep. If the car were only 15K miles, it's quite possible they would have been asking the same $14,500 as the price guides show no difference!
Looks like the previous owner spent a little money on a better shifter with a specially weighted shift ball. Should do you well. These cars certainly haven't gone down in price the past 4 years if the miles were kept about the same.

Launching!
Yeah you got a good deal. I bought mine last year and paid WAY more. It had like 35,000 miles and it cost me 17k. It was THE car for me since it was a stick and SOM. Either way make sure you enjoy it, there's no need to buy and have it sit all day.

Good find! If you're into car shows or drag racing you're pretty close to the Pontiac Nationals in Norwalk in August.
