LMC Housings and drop-in LED are the easiest and cheapest headlight upgrade you can do to these cars so far and usually have good results. I have the LMC Truck High Beam housings and LED (I have HID Projectors for Low Beam).
Although since these look so yellow in your pics, I'm guessing standard Halogen in those housings and possibly weak battery instead of the LED you linked.

Totally agree. Would love to know where they get the housings, there's only one other place that sells them, and they charge a lot more.

1. "Dude, I bought those headlights. They filled up with water after the first rainstorm/ tropical storm that hit here in Fl. I dried them out and realized the LED lightbulbs have vents in the back with the fan. When the lights are closed water flows between the gap between the headlight door and hood. Easy fix, glue a flat rubber flap under the headlight door."
2. "Public Service Announcement:The LEDs shown here are not necessarily representative of what you will receive in the kit. You will Likely be required to modify your housings/brackets with an angle-grinder/dremel. It's a significant blow to an otherwise impressive product. The custom headlight housings themselves are a beautiful blend of stock aesthetics with modern functionality."
3. "I recently purchased these exact LED's from LateModel. The lights totally geeked out my WS6. My headlight motors continue run after turning off the headlights. The headlights flip up when I turn on my parking lights only. This LED light pkg has totally geeked my car out. I still not have found a fix yet...... "
The video clearly shows cooling fans in the back of LED bulbs, which automatically means there will eventually be water, dirt and humidity inside these housings. Does anyone here actually have these installed?

The LED's I used with the housings are FANLESS. See my Amazon link to them. Would NEVER use the ones with fans used in that video.
Did not have to cut or dremel anything using these bulbs.
No problems with the headlight door motors at all.
Everything is perfect -- so far...

My post was specifically about reported problems with the exact kit from Late Modem Lighting shown in the video.

You are entirely correct.
I should have explained, the housings on the video from Late Model Lighting are the exact same housings sold by LMC without any bulbs.
Just much less expensive!
I have noticed lately LMC often is out of stock. Supply chain issues?
Also, just an FYI, there is in fact a small vent hole at the top of each housing to allow any condensation to escape. The OEM fog light housings have the same type of vent hole. The hole is good to have and needed, as long as you don't have poorly designed bulbs causing your housings to completely fill up with water!

SEALIGHT Scoparc S1 9006/HB4 LED Bulbs, Pack of 2 $40
SEALIGHT Scoparc 9005/HB3 LED Bulbs, Pack of 2 $40
LMC 36-0302 CUSTOM HEADLIGHT-150MM-OUTER, 2x $40
LMC 36-0303 CUSTOM HEADLIGHT-150MM-INNER 2x $40
Total: $160

Late Model Lighting 98-02 Pontiac Firebird/Trans Am
Low & High beam kit - $380
This means Late Model Lighting is charging $55 per each LED bulb with a fan. Those better be some amazing bulbs
And if someone really wanted to go wild and buy the kit from Late Model to be used with Sealight LEDs from Amazon, the total cost of high+low beam upgrade would be $460.

EXACTLY! Now you have it!
I'm not against any business making a profit, but that's just wrong!
My setup with the Scoparc's seems very promising so far.

In case its not in the instructions or elsewhere, the LED bulbs should be rotatable/clockable (either using an adjustment screw or clicking). Make sure the bulb has the LEDs facing to the sides.
This is my high beam.

The buckets may need to be trimmed to fit the heatsinks of the LEDs. Here is how I trimmed mine. I just used metal shears and pliers to cut small slits and bend out the tabs on the bucket a bit. Take a look at the pics to see what I mean,

I did this for the high beam. I don't know if more is needed for the low beams.

Hi VIP!
I had my mechanic install the Scoparc LED's I used, but I'm pretty sure the heat sink was slim enough that no trimming is needed.
Would you have a parts list for your projector setup? It's SWEET.

Yesterday I emailed LMC about availability of housings (both are on backorder with no ETA). They said "Check our web site every 5-6 weeks". I wanted to ask everyone here - if you visit their web site and see that housings are back in stock, can you please post in this thread so I get a notification? I'll be checking their web site as well, but I may forget.

Thanks. Its all in my thread linked above. I also show the trial and error that I went through.
Here is a link to the beginning of the thread (instead of a link to the post about the high beams).
https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...rojectors.html
The current setup (in those pics) is built off earlier setup I had, If I were to do it all over, I might mount a little differently since I wouldn't have had certain parts.

EK, I think the boxes the housings were in said made in China. It's so weird how only Late Model Lighting and LMC have them. It's a great part and it fits some GM trucks too. You would think more places would be selling them. Would NEVER buy them from LML! WAY too much money, and I don't like their LED's at ALL. LMC is often sold out of these, I should probably buy some spares!
VIP, that's some STRONG work there, GREAT fabrication! I need to tear in to your thread, thanks for posting it! The days of me fabricating and installing Knight Rider parts seems long gone! My brain still works great so far, but my eyes, back, and knees very much not like they used to be!
But some things I can pick up good parts and do the job in my head and use a good shop to do the install. WOW, a good shop these days willing to do more than just brakes, windshield wipers, bulbs, and inspection is PURE GOLD!
SO hard to find anymore, at least where I live in PA.
I don't know about elsewhere, but here most shops charge tons and/or can not or will not do the big jobs.
