Unhappy **please help** turn signal problems!!

This for a 1997 Trans Am. When I use my left turn signal, the arrow on the dashboard stays light and does not blink. the front light stays lit too. When I use my right turn signal, everything works fine, the front and the rear lights both blink and so does the right arrow on the dashboard. When my hazards are on, all the lights blink just fine.

I need to get my car inspected next month and I need to fix this problem ASAP. Please help ...

Thanks

You need a new bulb socket. Or, clean out the corrosion in the one you have.

This is absolutely not correct. If the bulb lights, the socket is working.

Get yourself a new flasher. They take 10 mins to replace at most. I HIGHLY doubt that you need TWO new sockets.

Yes, it's your flasher. Your car has a thermal flasher. When thermal flashers fail or you have a burned out bulb, they fail - "ON." (Modern cars will typically come with electronic flashers that keep going when bulbs burn out and fail "OFF" when the go bad.) Since your hazards work, you have proven that the bulbs are good and that the sockets are fine.

You will want to search for threads on the flasher. There are two - one for the hazards (on the left of the inside of the dash) and one for the turn signals. (on the right of the inside of the dash)
