Default Oil Pan Help

I have a 00 Trans Am WS6, block is cracked. Found a new engine without intake, sensors, or oil pan, no big deal I'll swap them over. During disassembly I found that my oil pan is also cracked. While searching I came across a cheap 2002 Corvette ls1 oil pan for sale. Will this fit mine without clearance issues? Has anyone tried it?

Welcome to LS1tech!

Negative, that pan will NOT fit a F-body.

Thank you Paul! Looks like I'll just be ordering one through the shop. I appreciate the info.

Not sure of your budget, I recently had a crack in my oil pan and the repair shop was able to order it through a parts shop, new, for $195.

Yeah, about the only vehicles that can use the Vette oil pan are Vettes.

Hey Brice, be aware that a new GM oil pan for F-body cars uses a different oil filter than what the car originally calls for.

I heard the same thing but my new pan took the same original size filter.

Thanks for all the help, the shop ordered an OEM for $290-ish that included the gasket, tube, windage tray/baffle. Just curious, is the oil pump located inside the oil pan too? Since I have the new one I'd rather not have to take the old one off at all. Doing a compression test on new engine block tomorrow then will start transferring all parts to new block. Not taking off the old one will save time. Plus I'm sure there's going to be an awful lot of metal down in there.

The oil pump in on the front of the motor around the crankshaft.
