I do not understand this question. This does not compute. Is "active" a code word for something else? Are you looking for a Firebird dating site? There are many normal humans posting on this forum.

Active, as in anybody actually on them, Only 2 responses to my question; 1 saying no there isn't, and 1 smart assed response leads me to believe this is not a very active forum for firebirds/trans ams specifically but thanks for the response!

Many of the forums here are focused on technical discussion, but not all of them. If you are not asking technical questions, you may not get many responses or views. (The thread on Firebird headlights has thousands of posts, for example.)

If you would like to try out some non-technical discussion, you might fasten your seat belt and try out our Racers Lounge.

What kind of activity are you looking for? What topics are you looking to talk about? Most of the users here are F-Body owners, but we have many issue-specific forums.

I think this is a pretty damn active forum. Half the parts for my build were bought off members of this site. I get tons of technical data from here and almost every question I have posted that was technical in nature was answered.
Hell, a few of us helped a guy with his Tick MC today. He had issues this morning, posted, got feedback, and he had the issue corrected by early afternoon. Just an example of the activity that goes on here.
That being said, this is my 2nd go around as a member here. 10 years ago the site was more active but that was before FB and other social media sites and the F-Body platform wasn't so old.
I'm not a fan of FB so I come here. I like it here. I'm staying.

How much "activity" should one expect for a car that stopped production almost 14 years ago? Many of the current owners of these cars were still toddlers when production ceased.

As far as the technical aspect, you can't beat this site. Try looking up a topic you are interested in, and then prepare to do some reading.

If you need more interaction with fellow owners, check out the regional forums. You might just find a club in your area.

No kidding. When I was signing the paperwork to buy my first brand new 4th gen Z28, many current 4th gen owners were just getting a name assigned to them on their birth certificates.

We're getting old, just like our cars.

Ha no doubt. Depressing to a point lol. To the op, uve found it. About every question I ever asked has been answered, not instantly, but reliably. Everything from tech details to chat about dogs etc. Been here for years best/only "active" site out there for us LS loving gearheads)

If you think this is old and slow, try an AMC forum. (American Motors for you young ones). I'm the young gun there and I can apply for Social Security this year.

A+ This is our "Post of the Day!" BTW - I'd love to see a LS conversion on an AMC Gremlin...

My assumption is that the conversation on Facebook would be different than the tech discussion, here. (I am not able to use Facebook due to conflicts with my profession and their security/data usage policies.) Am I correct?

The anonymity of a forum like this has tremendous advantages. We have engineers, professional technicians, and industry pros with wide notoriety posting here. If not for this venue, they would need to be silent as to not give away information "for free" or have their personal opinions reflect on their employers.

You are correct. I used to be on FB and the conversations are very different. I perused the LS options there and found much more SRK conversation than tech info. Plus it's not nearly as easy as using a "search" function to find past posts to answer your questions. There is soooo much info on LS1tech from the best in the biz and really knowledge members that it would be difficult to find to find something better that is LS focused. YB is another great forum but it's not so LS centric. It more or less covers everything racing but some really entertaining reads and tech data there.

I a member on transamcountry.com and that one gets a lot of members. It's mainly 2nd gen stuff but there are a few people rocking the 3rd/4th gen cars.
