Default LSx Intakes

Im about to have a cam installed in my 00 WS6.. 228/232 .6** lift...going with stall and new headers etc...I currently have the stock LS1 intake/TB and Im thinking going ahead and upgrading it while all this is being done...Between the different LSx intakes, is there that much of a diff? If the gains would be minimal, then I would rather wait and get a Fast intake and TB later this year...

If you can wait then just wait. Are you going to get a lid also?

I don't think a lid would make much diff on a WS6

what year TA? if you already have the ls6 intake which came factory on the 02 cars (not sure if they came on the 01 ls1's or not). If thats the case the gains from factory to fast would be pretty minimul/ bang per buck make it not worth the added cost.

The fast intake really responds to better flowing heads and more cubes, and while you will get gains with stock heads and cubes using the fast, the money can really be spent in other areas based on your goals for the car. If you are gonna go bigger cubes or different heads down the road nothing wrong with spending the money now and it gives you room to grow, or if you are out to get every last bit of HP you can out of a stock cube/head setup sure. If the cam is the end of the road kind of mod to the engine, than I would suggest looking into the ls6 intake tB combo and save some $ for other mods.

for those that feel like im knocking the fast intake I am not at all, its just not used to its full potential on stock head and displacement ls

If your still running the LS1 intake then yes I would recommend that you go ahead and change it up. First there are many other intakes out there that will produce more power. Here's a good read if your on the fence on which to get: http://www.hotrod.com/features/1507-...ifolds-tested/

When changing a cam your going to need the car tuned same for a larger intake so why not do both and tune once. Unless of course you can tune yourself. Just my $0.02

I run a fast intake, it worked great for me N/A and still now under boost. Just have to seal it up good for the boost application.
