Default Ooooh what a feeling

Years ago I owned a 1991 Firebird Formula with a WS6 package but I had to sell it, but now own a 2002 Firebird Formula that dosen't have WS6.

I would love to have that feeling of a WS6 package on my '02, what would I have to do to the car to get that feeling back?

What feeling are you talking about exactly? Better handling?
The WS6 package for the LS1 cars is kinda a joke, you get a 2mm larger front swaybar (32mm front, 30mm is standard) and 17x9" wheel with with 275 tires compared to the 16x8" standard wheels. And thats really it suspension-wise. Some got revised decarbon shocks but they are utter garbage.
If you really want to tighten up handling #1 priority is to get better shocks, bilstein HD or Koni STR.T if you are on budget, but I highly recommend Koni sport SA's. You won't believe you are driving the same car, think BMW M3 like.
Next would be getting nice balanced swaybars like 35mm front, 22mm rear. Then if you want to lower the car a good set of lowering springs like Strano springs would further improve handling. At this point you will have sports car owners scratching their heads wondering how a heavy muscle car ran away from them on the backroads.

Exactly.

Not sure what the OP is referring to in terms of a "WS6 feeling". The package is almost entirely cosmetic in regards to a 4th gen. You can put the 17x9" WS6 wheels on your base Formula and it will ride and drive just like a stock WS6. The WS6 hood and catback account for probably 2hp at best, in stock form; they are mostly meaningless beyond their appearance.

In other words, your '02 Formula is just a wheel swap away from the WS6 feeling. Or, you can follow the suggestions from JD_AMG above and get a feeling that's much better than a stock WS6.

Thanks for the info. So, all I have to do is put 17X9 wheels on her and I'll get some of that WS6 feeling back.

Not sure what you mean about "getting some of that feeling back", as you mentioned having a '91 before. Third gen WS6s had 16x8 wheels (same as your current base Formula) and several suspension & steering differences that were inherent to 3rd gens. You would need to buy another 3rd gen to get that specific feeling back.

However, adding 17x9 wheels to your current Formula will give you the effective feeling of a 4th gen WS6 (as the only other handling difference was the 2mm larger swaybar mentioned above, but that alone is no more than a marginal difference at best on the street.)

^This.
What "feeling" are you talking about exactly?
In what way do you want the car to feel differently? Tighter? Looser? Stiffer? Softer? Better turn-in? Better(firm, but not jarring) ride quality? Acceleration? Braking? What are you talking about exactly? You are being very vague.
Be specific, the more specific and descriptive you are the better chance we can help set you up.

There's nothing magical about the WS6 version of any fourth generation. You want it to drive like it's on rails, then you can certainly do so with some aftermarket goods like already mentioned.

You're still being very vague, but you can do the mods I listed and you will be FAR FAR ahead of a 3rd gen WS6 in terms of handling and tightness.

I'm sorry if I'm being vague, I want it to drive like it's on rails but I understand I won't get my 4th gen Firbird to feel like my 3rd gen.

You will easily be able to get the 4th gen to feel better than a stock 3rd gen, thats a piece of cake.
Again, do the mods I listed and you will be blown away that its even the same car as before, it will make the 3rd gen feel sloppy in comparison. Do not go cheap on the shocks, they will be the foundation to a good suspension setup, I highly recommend Koni sport single adjsutables, check out stranoparts.com for advise and ordering.

If you are looking for a tighter and more responsive feel from your car, springs, shocks and sway bars are the key ingredients in this. If you are looking to improve handling without sacrificing ride quality or drivability, I would look at the following combination that has been proven for years on these cars:
Koni Str.T Shocks
BMR SP001 Springs
BMR SB026 sway bar package

You will be amazed at the difference you feel from these components
