I am in the process of buying a 2 post hoist for my new shop. T/A is getting painted as we speak, so I need to know how much clearance I "should have" between the ground and the lift points on the car. It has Strano springs on it with the factory Speedlines if that helps. I am going with either a Bendpak XPR 10AS-LP which has a 3 1/2" pad height for $2950 OR a Dannmar Brigadier 10ACX which has a 4 1/2" pad height for $2500. I am torn whether the extra $450 is worth the 1" lower pad height. Any input or measurements would be great from someone who may have the same/similar set-up! Thanks guys!

I think you will be fine with the 4.5 but given the option I would opt for the 3.5. you may not need it but it would be good to have it.

I was on eibachs and 17 inch tt2's with a 245 40 series tire and the only issue I had was I had the factory ground effects so I would have to take the pad off the arm to swing it under the car but once it was under the car I had plenty of clearance to put the pad back in . though one point I did have a flat tire so I had to swing it into the fender will to put the pad on but still not a big deal. I later switched to 18" wheels and have no problems at all.

Don't have specific measurements, but remember that you can always drive the car onto pieces of wood to raise. I've had to do this with vehicles in the past. Just cut some sections of 2x10 or 2x12 if and when you need them. I also built some super short ramps for my trans am. They are staggered lengths of 1/2 pressboard plywood. So the base layer is 36", the next layer is 28", the next layer is 20" etc etc etc. I can't get a jack under my lowered car in my sig at home without these short ramps. And it's one of the low profile harbor freight "racing" jacks that everybody seems to have.

IMO I'd go with the lowest one.

I appreciate all the comments guys, but if someone could give me an actual measurement it would be great. I really want to make sure that the extra $450 is justifiable for the 3.5" Bendpak. Wife is already on my *** for spending all this money on the shop and all she has/gets is a 2 car garage all to her herself...

Looks.like 5.5" inches to the rocker panel and 4.75 to my boxed sfc's roughly. I'm on coilovers and 18's so it might be different for you.
