Odometer Display Conversion

Hey everyone, I saw a FB picture a while ago where someone had converted their odometer to display speed, compass, and some other helpful info. I would love to do the same but I can't seem to find anything out about it. Does anyone here happen to have this conversion done or know where I can find information or a site regarding. This was on a late 4th Gen btw. TIA

That would be more way illegal than ripping the tag off a mattress.

I thought you meant getting rid of the odometer numbers and memory completely!

I totally forgot about this thread - I've added it in to the FAQ in the Stereo & Electronics section since the mod is not specific to the Firebird.

woah, thats a lot more work than I had thought. I assumed it was a mass produced plug and play kinda thing. Maybe I'll hold off on that for a while. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction though!

It doesn't get rid of the Odometer completely... It does however get rid of the only way to display the official reading. You set in the current mileage when you first program the unit and then it'll keep track of the current mileage. You can always remove the display and plug the old display in and get your old readings.

Yeah thats it! Did you build yours or is it an aftermarket piece?

nhra-trans-am posted the original link. Fieroluke is the original developer for all the programming and HW development. LT4Vert did the graphic design for graphics on the system. Fieroluke is developing a lite version which may be interesting for you. On page 36 of the link posted above you can read more info.
