here is a video of the play in my headlights - any suggestions? perhaps play with the rubber bump stop screws or something? or is this normal?

I just checked mine and they are similar to yours. Your drivers side appears to move more than the passenger side and your drivers side moves more than my drivers side.

Sorry but I have no suggestions.
In my case, they are rarely used due to it being a garage queen.

^^Thanks for the video - still wondering how to tighten. they dont flip/flop when driving. or bounce around.

still wondering what all the rubber bump stop/nut thingy do and how they come into play

They control the limits of the door movement. In addition to physically limiting the travel when the control arm hits them, the headlight module senses it and cuts power to the motor.
