Finish on wheels is terrible.
A while back, I was able to purchase a 30th Anniversary from the original owner. The body looks really great. However, the wheels look like they were left at the beach for a couple of years. The blue is almost completely gone. Some of the clear coat is gone. The lips that used to be polished are highly corroded. There are little worm lines under the clear coat that is still there. Unfortunately, I don't have $$$ to throw at the problem. What is the best, easyist way to strip the rest of the clear coat off? And once that is done, is it possible to get the polished surfaces shiney again?

_JB_, I might look into that. I'm thinking that the original owner might have used some wheel cleaner that ruined the finish on the wheels.
BTW a friend has an 02 just like yours less a few of your mods. Beautiful car.

Have you ever just considered using something like Plasti-Dip until you can save up for some new wheels or have those
Re-done? I know it's not for everyone but it would look a lot better "in my opinion " than what they look like now.
I know some people don't like dark colored wheels and would prefer a nice new shiney wheel but money some decides for us.

I would be careful. Even in their current state, those wheels are RARE and worth $250+ each -> more if the beads are perfect and the rims true.
I checked the Factory Service Manual for 1999 and don't see any repair procedures. I would expect that you'd need to find a specialized rim repair operation near you to get this fixed. They would all be able to clear coat what you have. Only a few select operations may have the contacts necessary to know where they can send them out to get properly re-anodized to the right blue color.
