Default Blue tinted mirror

So as quite a few know the lt1's and 98's came with blue tinted mirrors and was wondering if anyone has bought or seen this replacement mirror on ebay here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fits-93-02-F...=mtr#vi-ilComp

I have a 98 and one of mirrors got trashed and the replacement mirroring I'm getting doesn't have the blue and I dig it so I am looking at getting this one. Just wondering how good it matched or if it was worth getting. Thanks for any reply's!

Well if anyone else cares to see it I went ahead and ordered it and will have it in a few days. I can post pictures and compare it to my other mirror.

This is new to me, I can understand the '99 TA having blue mirrors because of the blue rims but why the '98?

It helps at night to keep from headlights blinding you in the mirror. From what I've read they did it from 93 to early 99 models and I read somewhere that it was an option for later years, but not entirely sure on that. Some Camaro's had them as well.

I'm looking forward seeing your pics of them when you get them installed.

I can understand the blue tint helps at night.

These blue tinted side mirrors was one of the first things that I noted when I test-drove my '98 when I purchased it new. My '94 Z28 'vert that I traded in did not have blue tint on the side mirrors. Now, after 19+ years of ownership, I hardly notice them.

I forgot which car I drove that had a blueish tinted rearview mirror. You couldnt really tell it was blue, but it really helped to keep so much glare off your mirror from the cars behind you at night. I dont even know if my 98 ws6 has them.

How hard is it to replace the side view mirror glass?

Thanks,
John

Not hard. If you can heat up the adhesive enough you can just pry the glass off. Don't pry at the plastic underneath though. Or if you really want lightly break the glass and get it all out and replace it 😂
