Exclamation Please help!! Ls1 to lc8 swap

Alrighty, i have a 99 trans am. with a 4l60e. i just acquired a lc8 6.0, will this swap be compatable?? i dont want to start building the motor and it not work.

From what I see the lc8 is essentially the NG/lp version of the L96. Two problems your going run into. The engine using a 58x reluctor wheel on the crankshaft and the heads are rectangular intake ports versus your old engine used cathedral port heads. If you're going to build the engine then neither is a problem. You can change the reluctor wheel or switch to a 24x reluctor crankshaft. You can also keep the rectangular heads and switch to a compatible intake or use your old heads and intake.

The engine likely has VVT (variable valve timing) that also easily deleted.

thank you, I'm going to completely build the motor. nothing is staying the same. but will my tranny bolt to it?

Yes, They haven't changed the bolt pattern in decades.
