Default 2002 Pontiac Trans AM WS9 Option Code

I have a Pontiac Trans AM with a WS6 fiber glass hood and ram air with the large front and rear sway bars. The production codes on the door do not include a WS6 code, but it does include a WS6 code. I believe the car is a clone, but I am confused as to what the WS9 code represemts.

The WS6 package did not include a larger rear sway bar. They received the same 19mm rear bar as all other V8 models, only the front bar was larger (32mm vs. 30mm).

If you do not have the WS6 code, then it's not a WS6 (assuming the SPID VIN matches the vehicle).

WS9 is not specific to Formula, it's also present on Trans Am. The actual "Formula" RPO is W66 (vs. Y82 for "Trans Am").

From the GM Service manual volume 1 page 0-14

WS9 Model Conversion Formula

W66 Merchandise Package Formula

Y82 Merchandise Package Trans Am

So I guess you would see a WS9 and a Y82 for a TA

Exactly. That's precisely what the SPID on my '00 Trans Am contained.
