Exclamation Going to need a smart person for all my trans am problems

i have a 97 trans am with a 94 lt1 in it. Just put the motor in.i have codes p0100 and p0400.i have changed out the egr what’s next? I noticed one code was for the mass air flow.well I was watching the mass air flow on my scanner and seemed fine but I could be wrong.i was test driving the car and after about 30m the fuel pump got very quiet and quit.its new and very noisy.so now it’s time for another pump I guess.also map lights don’t work either.what will cause that? And last the cluster is digital and nothing works right on it.did the car come stock with a digital cluster?

i am not the smart guy you are looking for but I would ask you, do you know the MAF and EGR are both good?
is the wiring and computer good?
is the 1994 MAF and EGR compatible with the 1997 computer?
is the pinout on the connectors the same to the MAF and EGR?
do you still have the old engine to swap out parts?

did the fuel pump malfunction or did it loose power by blowing a fuse because the new fuel pump had a higher current draw?
is there power at the new fuel Pump?

The harness and all sensors are from the original motor.

Both of these problems could be related to the hook-up or wiring from your engine install. I would start by doing full electrical diagnostics, voltage probes, etc. on both of those circuits and deal with each individually. The P0100 will probably be easiest to address first.

Commonly, we also see P0100 type problems caused by a K&N air filter. They are evil - spawned by Satan himself. They contaminate the MAF and cause it to perform out of range. Usually, a $6 can of MAF cleaner can correct this fouling.

I believe the GM test for the EGR is simply to take it off, make sure the pintle moves freely and springs back into place when you press it.
