Just picked this up for $600.00 and looking for some help for what I got, #'s, packages, etc....

Just aquired project, looking for some info on what I got

Getting ready to pick this up. Just looking for all info on like packages, #'s, ect...

Getting ready to get this for a father, son fix and sell project. Just looking for some input on what exactly I got. I know it's a 6cyl, ttops , purple, 140k miles, auto, everything works but 1 headlight doesn't open and needs all new calibers, rotors, pads. Pretty cool car. What is the ASC# y'all refer to? Do I have one or need one. Think I got it figured out enough to this maybe 1 of 268? Not sure. Hell of a lot of info on here. Any knowledge greatly appreciated.

Not really. The purple was the least common color for that year but otherwise it has the most common options.

The 88U Bright Purple Metallic exterior makes that Firebird one of 293, the rarest Firebird color in '98

Actually, one of 293 V6 coupes. There were 466 total Bright Purple Firebirds that year including coupes, convertibles, V6 and Trans Am... surprisingly no Formulas in that color.

Ok, got all the brakes done, headlights working. Only thing left is rear hatch latch that's broke and for some reason the radio will only turn off when passenger door is opened but not the drivers door. I can't seem to find the plungers. Do these cars have them or is it something else that controls dome light and radio ?

No, the 98+ f-bodies don't have the traditional pushpin door switch. Instead, the door switch is in the latch mechanism. They can sometimes get gummed up with road grime and old grease so a good cleaning might resolve the problem. Also, there is a slight amount of adjustment available by loosening the mounting screws.

Which is why I stated: "The 88U Bright Purple Metallic exterior makes that Firebird (i.e: the OP's V6 coupe) one of 293...".
