I'm thinking the Banshee thing was just something that the guy who owned the car last did to it. The paint job on the hood looks really bad *** though. The biggest give away to me is that the decal is on the bumper, and not below the right side tail light. Bumper decals are something that people do, but not factories. Word to the wise also.... If you ever have a dealer willing to trade you straight accros for ANYTHING, then you need to run, not walk in the other direction. And when he tries to sweeten the deal w/ free oil changes for a year......... He's trying to rob you man. Notice he passed the buck when you called him out on it.... Anyway, doesn't really matter as you've decided (aparently) against anyway. Oh, and your LS1 will destroy any LT1 car. You're faster than the LT1 Vettes.

I kow what it likes...I was starting my senior year last year when i got my car and I was only 18 at the time. Wont have mine paid off till i am 20....something. Keep the LS1...its a great car and great color. Just take care of the car and it will in return do the same for you. Don't be afraid to ask questions on the site, there are no stupid questions here, and everyone is always wanting to help another f-body out.

thanks...yeh..i also thought that..was alittle wierd that i searched every search engine and never find another car like that..another thing was..that the Banshee was written on the rear of the doors...like my transam is under the door right behind front wheels..i thought thats where they all were on Firebirds...in his post you see that he said it was hoped up..at an aftermarket place like SLP...so i asked him what all was done to it...haven't got a response for about 2 hours thats kinda strange ...

Yeah, once he knows that you know..... Deal's off. He know he tried to scam you and you figured it out. There is no excuse for that. I can't believe he wanted to steal your car like that.

Have you ever seen an 93-97 LT1 Formula. They all had "Formula V8" written on the bumper.

So it sounds like it could possibly be a rare deal. If it is in fact, I could see buying it for strictly collectors purposes, but not for a DD.

I know what that car is. They were done locally here in the Clearwater/Tampa area by Sunset Pontiac (which was bought out by Autoway some years ago) They had a special paintjob and some exhaust work (I'd also heard rumors that the engines had mods as well. I'd be willing to bet (especially since the car originated in Florida) that it is an original Sunset Banshee car. They always sounded awesome going down the road.

exactly... it's a dealership option which is still rare... which can be consisterd a collector.. 27 made ? not a bad deal. but i'd keep the LS1... I have an LT1 formy that i converted to a 98+ or an ls1 model t/a just cuz they look that much better. and you LS1 owns LT1's for the most part.

I would trade, So what you loose some ponys look what you are getting. A rare car that should hold value to collectors in the future. LS1's are common as hell, go buy one later down the road. You might not come across another Banshee.

The Pontiac Banshee is indeed a real car; a concept car developed for for show in 1988. In addition to the usual car shows and velvet roped exhibits, The Banshee and it's lines were utilized in both the made-for-television Knight Rider reunion, "Knight 2000," and in the styling of the first forth generation Firebird Trans Am in 1993.

Here is a picture of the actual concept Banshee. Pretty hot.

The Banshee's were dealer option cars simular to what GMMG did with it's earlier cars. It was sold on the '93-97 Firebirds. cjh's link above shows one. Used to be a few of them running around in the Tampa Bay area. Haven't seem any outside that area.

Before you said you couldn't mod you car till you pay it off. That so not true. I own a 99 t/a with z06 vette rims, slp headers, custom exhaust, intake, and slp h.o hood, and i am only 17 years old and i work a hy-vee. A freaking grocery store. Ya it won't be paid off till i am 20 or so but, that is no reason to say you can't mod your car. My lil bro is only 15 has an LT1 way ******* slow. I drive that car and i hate it. LS1 is only way to go, don't waste your time on this "banshee".
