Default hood scoops

Hi I got a forumula trans am, and you know the stock hood with the dual fake scoops at the bottom on the hood, with the fake black grill. IS there any place that makes these that actually are opened and look real?

Thanks

Welcome to the site.

And just to clear things up. You have can either have a firebird formula, or a firebird trans am. There isn't anyone out there currently who makes a functional scoop or vent for our stock hood. But I have always wanted to try somthing my self.

You could probably take the plastic out and figure out how to put a real metal grill in there. I know you can do it on a Z28.

The scoops can be made functional but why? They sit out in front of the radiator, so you're not even going to be able to vent underhood air.

The scoops were intended to be functional when the car was being designed. So were the mailslots on the camaro hood. But, they found that making these functional increased the air pressure in the engine compartment, which lowered the amount of airflow coming in through the radiator via the air damn underneath the car.
On the camaro's, there was also an issue with water ingestion.

I thought about this as well until I remembered...When you wash the car or drive in the rain all the water flows down the my hood and collects where those fake scoops are. If they were functional so much water would just run through them and rust stuff or whatever but it wouldnt be good.
