Default windshield washer fluid

Do I have to use any special windshield washer fluid on my car?
Could I use just water?

I don't have the owner's manual of my TA, but there is a light on the upper left corner that I think it means low windshield washer fluid.

Any windshield washer fliud will do...don't use water...it will freeze in the colder weather.

I don't remember for sure what that indicator light is..I know which one you're talking about..just don't remember what it's for without looking it up. (And the manual is in the car down in the parking lot.)

No you don't need to use windsheild washer fluid. You can use any liquid-- like urine for example. Seriously, you should go to the auto parts store and buy the correct jug of fluid. It has a mild antifreeze so it won't expand and crack to the system's assemblies like water might. Plus washer fluid is meant to work at removing light bugs and dirt better, quicker, and dry streak free unlike ordinary tap water. Change the wiper blades too. Don't forget the oil, premium gas, spark plugs, and air freshener.

That indicator is not for your windshield washer fluid. It would be silly for GM to put a dash indicator for this, don't you think?
The dash light that you are looking at signifies your coolant is running low.
Top it off and you will be fine.

You'd probably get more replies if you post this in a new thread instead of in this unrelated one...

Chances are that your low coolent light is on because the sensor is bad, the coolent sensors are notorious for going out, i know a guy who has replaced his twice and they've both gone bad, if filling it up doesnt turn it off just unplug it and it will go off, thats what i did.

I believe that windshield washer fluid is good up to 30 degrees below zero, so you should be just fine considering where you're located.

Here in the rust belt you'd be crazy to not have your washer fluid jug filled up at all times. A road salt-smeared windshield isn't easy to see out of....
