I think you'd really be smart to buy a ttop car if you want them..............I believe it has something to do with the cost and the structural integrity of the cars built with/withoout ttops.

There is no structural difference between hardtop car and a t-top car. You can do it yourself, there is a member of firebirdv6.com that did. Do a search in the appearance section there, if you can't find it, post and someone will give you the link to the how to.

Yup, there's not damage to the integrity, T-Top and hard top cars both have the same integrity, T-Tops are just hard tops that GM cuts and finishes from the factory (Only piece adding to integrity is the beam in the middle)

A friend of mine bought a 98Z hardtop and later converted it to t-roofs. He did most of the work himself, cutting the roof with a dremel, then sent the finishing stuff (trim, etc.) to a bodyshop. He bought used panels from a 94TA (any 4th gen roof panels will fit)

He used to have pics on the net, but his link doesn't work anymore. Someone on here also did this too, and posted tons of pics. Hopefully someone can post that link.
