Badging So why do some 2002 trans ams have the "Last of the breed" badge. "Let me correct my errors" :pimp: |
It's actually The Last of The Breed....last year of production 2002 |

Bread will usually get stale and moldy if left uneaten for too long. The End of the Bread emblems just signify bread that's not edible any longer. |
Yea I know what they signify but some have them and some do not, just like all 35th anniversary camaros did not have stripes, I just thought the badge was part of some package. |
They were kind of pricey,$100 bucks with a key holder, piece of paper. I guess if you saw them on other years than 2002 it would either be they wanted them, or they just didn't know the back ground and they like them. I liked them but didn't like where they were supposed to be put, sooooo I decided to be different, Anyway this is where I got mine and the other site that some guys got them from stopped selling them. Just in case you wanted to see a close up of what they were and what you got. carr.org/~gripper/partshtml/gmfbody.html |
Some people like stickers. |

Its not a GM option it was an aftermarket company selling them.... |
SOM02WS6 Thanks for answering my question. |
As far as I know, it was a dealer option, on I think firebirds only, not Trans Ams. It wasn't offered to me when I bought my 02 TA new in 01, but then my dealer wasn't the sharpest knife in the drawer. I bought a Last of the Breed package on eBay for around $90. 2 decals, key fob, and a birth certificate type thing. Not bad, if you collect memorabilia for your car. I put the decals on, where the instructions said, above the air extractors. I like them, they add a nice touch, and I've gotten nice looks and comments on them. |
Yeah, it was a dealer option. I remember seeing new Firebirds on the lot with the LOB badging back in 02. I'm pretty sure it was available on the TA and Formula cars as well. |
I've seen it on a few T/A and Formula cars at the dealership... |
Allegedly like 1200 or so 2002's had them (either from the factory or the Dealerships added the LOB Badges on themselves) or you could buy the "kit" for yourself from most any dealership. Fred Beans does/did sell them regularly. |
