Default 89 GTA steering column

My buddy has a 89 GTA. He is having some trouble with the steering column, I think he said the bearing had gone out, and maybe the turn signal too. I honestly cant remember his reasoning to pull it apart. Anyways. Anybody on here have any experience doing this? Or anybody know of a site with a tech manual for his TA, or a guide to tear the column down?

Thanks for the help. I know he is eager to get the TA going again. I helped him put a new fuel pump after it had sat for years, then some other stuff gave up on the TA so he is freaking out that he cant drive it

If it has tilt steering then it is a little tricky to work on, you need a few special tools. If you cant get it back together then you might just want to get a whole new one

Maybe ebay will have something, it doesnt have to be a GTA column, most the time the steering wheel radio controls stop working, any way they only work with the original delco radio, so if thats not a issue your good to go and get any column from a formula or camaro.

Well my buddy wants to keep the radio controls, and they still do work, and he still has the original radio too. I have looked some up on ebay. but most look like junk

Those columns are a dime a dozen. Don;t waste time trying to put it back together. Try a junk yard or ebay.

Try here too, I think someone is parting out a GTA:
