what does WS.6 mean? does anybody know what that stands for like the camaros SS for super sport what does WS.6 mean? appreciate the help |
The WS6 Ram Air Trans Am is the most aggressively styled TA. WS6 Ram Air Performance Package, consisting of functional front-end air dams leading to an underhood ram air system, low-restriction dual outlet exhaust, power steering cooler, Hurst shifter, P275/40ZR17 tires, 17x9.5-alum wheels, specially-tuned suspension. Mods boost horsepower and torque peaks to 320 and 345, up from the stock Trans Am's 305 and 320 figures. It also means it's way slower then a LS1 camaroSS. :jest: :chug: |
It is just an RPO code like Z28 1LE LS1 LS6 LS7 ZR1 ZO6 ...... Do a Search |
the ws6 is just an agressive apperance package. it comes with a few extra frills not enuff to make it faster than a base t/a. its a rpo code kinda like Z28 but that has been used fror a long time on the birds. i believe the ws6 package was a handleing package on the old birds rear disc brakes, sway bars, wheels, diffrent springs and shocks. |
^^ you do get the better handleing package, rear disc brakes, better wheels, and different spring and shocks. |
WS6 RPO first appeared in 1978 as a Suspension upgrade for the Formula and Trans Am it consisted of stiffer springs revalved shocks urethane bushings larger front swaybar and 15x8 snowflake wheels to replace the 15x7's 4 wheels disc brakes were added to the package in `79 |

It was also used as the top performance suspension RPO code for other Pontiacs too, the Bonneville, Fiero, and Grand Am could all be had with the WS-6 suspension option at one point or another... |
