Question 2.8 V6 to 427 engine swap

I'm an 18 year old still in college, and recently i bought a 1987 Firebird (V6 2.8) and i was wondering if there is anyone out there or anyone that would know if a swap with a 427 is possible. I know I could do a 350, but I know someone who is getting rid of a 427. If it is possible, I'd like to do it...someone enlighten me please.

Might want to post this up in the small block/big block section for better feedback. There are quite a few 4th gens with Gen I SBC and big blocks conversions on here, and I'm sure you can pick up a few tips on what to look for.

I'm no expert on engine swaps, but I know that almost everything needs to be replaced. Pretty much the only thing underneath the hood that can stay is the battery it's that much work

Well, the factory once put 454 and 455 in the old style Pont and Chevs. Measure between the strut towers. See if a 427 fits.

I always felt a stroked 3.8 turbo would just be a blast and a real sleeper.

I remember seeing a old article in Hot Rod of a white 3rd Gen GM put a 454 and a 6 speed from a vette in it if I recall right it took them ALOT of work to put it.

i saw an article like that also it was the one when he did the steps in like 10 years and now its running like 11s lol but i think that might have been a 350.

well as for your swap its gonna be rough... im doing the 350 swap and its confusing me already...stupid wires.....going carb........but yeah i think u would have to replace everything under the hood and the rest of the drive line and shocks and................some more
