Don't sweat it brother! You have a clean, straight platform to work from. Like I said before, an LT1 would really wake that thing up and for a lot less moolah than building up the LO3 or buying a crate motor.

Use the RPO/VIN decoder on thirdgen and it should tell you exactly what you have.

You can still enjoy your car. You're young and should take this car and learn everything you can about it. Then step up to something a little nicer when you go off to college and then treat yourself with something great once you get that diploma.

Could have been worse....you could have had that same car with a V-6 instead of the V-8. At least you got that start!! I actually wanted that car with that motor back in 1988!! I couldn't afford a TPI car so I was looking at base models with the v-8 TBI. Back then it was an ok car and would keep pace with most others with a few mods. You car at least came with the exact same ground effects as the GTA!!

how and where do i get the RPO/VIN decoder for the thirdgen how do i use it as well lol and now im haviong electrical probs haha i need to work on here and i saw this ls1 engine in the jumk yard had only 88,975 miles on it the guys selling it for 600$ idk if hes stupid or somethings wrong that i dont no about might b blown?

dan stweart yea i no how much u think i need to swap out the auto to a manual i have peeps who will install free but would it b hard? im getting a ls1 soon i got my *** handed to me by a g35 last night haha but it was a fun run tho but i need to stop pushing it until i get mods and diff engine haha
