Basically. The "outwardly badged" ('96-'02) WS6 was an option package that contained the same thing (wheels, hood, CAI, suspension, exhaust upgrades) regardless of whether it was put on a Formula or a T/A. So any difference between a Formula and T/A would be the same for a Formula WS6 vs T/A WS6. Also, WS6 was not avail on Formulas in '01-'02.

I have a 96 formula WS6. The T/A and the formula are basically the same except for front and rear bumper covers, etc. Think of a formula as a V6 body bird with a T/A drivetrain and motor. Best of both worlds, lighter than a T/A same engine and drivetrain.

Only difference are the options. You could get a Formula WS6 with cloth seats,Hardtop and a cheaper pricetag when new. The Trans Am you had to get leather,T-Tops etc.
96-97 Both cars could be ordered the way you wanted. GM didn't make you get leather and all the extras until 1998

rare car.. seems like most are black.
i missed out on one which sold before i got there.... but essentially its bumpers and ground effects.
as the SLP cars tend to differ there could be other differences.
