Default Trans-Am raised spoiler/hatch on Formula

I am about to pick up a 2000 Formula, the car is completly stock with almost every factory option. Before I looked at this car, I also looked at a 1998 Formula, there was some mods done to it, and one of the things he did was swap the stock Formula hatch with the small spoiler and put on a Trans-Am hatch with the raised spoiler. I think I want to do this with my Formula as I love the look of the T/A hatch. I just haven't seen any for sale and was wondering if there are certain sites and vendors to buy these off of, or if they are commonly found in the classifieds. Thanks in advanced for any help!

they are on ebay from time to time, or you might check the classifieds section on here.

Some formulas before the year 2000 came with high rise spoilers, just a note!

The T/A spoiler is heavier, if you care about weight

In the LS1 years, the uplift (TA) spoiler was not available on any Formulas. In the LT1 years, the only Formulas that you could get the uplift spoiler on as an option was the Firehawk Formulas AFAIK. Prior to ~'96, the uplift spoiler was an option on even the TAs, so some LT1 TAs had the Formula spoiler, but not the other way around.

Definitely search ebay. If there are none there just check back from time to time, or try your local junkyards. Any TA high rise hatch from a 93 to 02 TA should work.

Search for late-model Camaro/Firebird salvage yards....there are a few out there. Depending on where you're located, one one of them may be close. That would save you on shipping which will be expensive.

Thanks for the help guys. As for pics here are pics of the 1998 Formula I was going to buy with the Trans-Am hatch:

I am no longer buying this car though, for the same exact price I would be paying for that, I am getting a 2000 Formula with T-tops, leather, and lower miles. Yeah it doesn't have Corvette wheels on it (has stock chromes) No it doesn't have an aftermarket exhaust yet, but that will come VERY shortly after purchase, also that red one needs $600 worth of new tires (tires were very bald, and the 17's in the front 18's out back would make it just more expensive.)

Nice car above, ugly rims though. I like the stock 5 spoke a lot. If they weren't chrome I'd say get them powder coated black with the outside lip left silver

GL on your purchase, and enjoy the ride. Don't know if you're a previous F-Body owner, but they're a blast.

Yeah I wasen't sure how I felt with the C5 Vette wagon wheels on the Formula either. The car im getting is pewter and has the stock chromes on it. I would of had them powder coated if they weren't chrome.

Thanks, I deff. will enjoy it, it will be my first F-Body. I can't wait, Thursday is too long away!

I agree Raptor WS6.

Also, do you guys think $300 is a good price for a Trans-Am hatch off a 98 that was wrecked? Im new to F-Bodies so im not really familiar with prices on things like that. My car is pewter, the hatch is pewter aswell. The seller is located 60 miles from me so I would probably pick it up to save $120 on shipping.

Yeah that seems like a good price exspecially since it's the same color as your car. Just as long as the car was hit in the front or something, and not the back end.

It may not match fully due to sun exposure to either of your cars, but should be darn close. Then again, some cars color stayed pretty close to the eyes, but are actually different colors, so if it's close enough I'd go drive your car to it and then sit them side by side and look (the car and hatch, not the hatches side by side).

Also be weary of mid-body t-boned cars.
