You bought a rare one! Only 796 WS6 verts and an additional 396 regular T/A's for 2001. The above link is very helpful to break it down a bit further. Is it in great condition? A potential collectible way down the road if you keep it that long, and keep it nice. The production numbers are just ridiculously low and it was no wonder GM stopped making these. Horribly expensive too back in '01 at $33,000 for my regular T/A vert and the WS6 package added $3,000 on top of that. I still feel the OUCH!!

I am setting here looking at the window sticker for my 2000 Vert...$35,260. It had the changer, optional seats, 3.23 gears but not traction control...and was an auto so the Hurst shifter wasnt an option. So every option except traction control.

VERY!! Especially in that color. Divide all the color possibilities out of the 796 built and maybe 50 or so in your color?? Probably 100 or so each in black, red, etc.. the more popular built colors. Still low by any stretch. Just close ballpark numbers as I haven't seen a color breakdown for 2001 model T/A's.

You guys with the dark blue WS6 Convertiblse, are any of you from NE PA? Today driving down Rt. 209 in Brodheadsville I passed one going the opposite direction. I believe it was a guy driving with the top down. I was in my red 01 WS6 and gave a wave, but didn't recieve one back.

Default 01 Blue T/A WS6, Manual Vert with Tan - Rare?

I am about to buy this week a 2001 Navy Blue T/A WS6, Manual Vert with Tan top and interior. I found where only 280 manual T/A blue 2001 verts were made. I suspect with the tan top, this has got to be a very rare combo. Any insight into production number for a 01 blue / tan WS6 manual vert would be appreciated. Thanks.

Kelli,

I ordered a fully optioned 2001 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am WS6 convertible back in the fall of 2000 and was wondering the same thing after delivery. I found the production numbers in High Performance Pontiac's January 2002 issue on page 15 and it broke down to this; 2001 Trans Am WS6 conv.- 796, Automatic- 516, Six-Speed- 280, and with the option Hurst short-throw shift linkage- 214.

Find attached a photo copy of the article, sorry about the poor quality.

Those numbers may not include all of the exported units. Check the link in my sig for a breakdown from CompNine, its showing 1013 total '01 WS6 'verts (and even that is a few shy of the 1025 number I found from another source).

It's interesting how relevant this thread still is, even after 5 years since the original question.
