Default 1999 Pontiac Firebird Keyless Remote Programming

My son has a 99 Firebird (6cyl) and he needed a new BCM so I got him a keyless entry BCM, which his car didn't originally come with. So now, when I get him a keyless entry remote, how do I program it? Will it work?

Looks like this thread has been dead for awhile, but if anyone out there could tell me how many silver hardtop Formula Firebirds were built in 99 specifically and throughout 98-01 run I greatly would appreciate it (M6/A4 numbers don't matter to me).

Johnny B, if you're still around I could use your help!

Trans Am World breakdown by year. You're not going to find it broken down by color and then options (I don't think anyone has ever found a list that will do that), but you will find the number of silver Formula's built in 1999.

Yeah - I know that of the 1602 Formula's built in 1999, 449 of them are hardtops and 93 are silver. But I was thinking Johnny B was using a part of Compnine to be able to combine RPO codes?

Combining the percentages of each, I'd estimate that there were 26 silver HT Formulas built in '99. The only way to know for sure is to scour CompNine's database and filter on those two RPOs. However, as far as I know that is no longer free, so I'm not inclined to go there.

Thanks - do you happen to know if there is a certain 'level' on Compnine that is required to filter by RPO? They show Personal VIN Decoding, Personal VIN Decoding Plus, Business Package, and Premium Business as options...

It appears that the Personal VIN Decoding PLUS includes the "Complete Vehicle Rarity" feature ($15/mo subscription).

https://www.compnine.com/signup.php#

I have not tried this myself, so I don't know for 100% sure.

As far as I know, it's not likely to find it out anymore. The paperwork is there, but there seems to be no real incentive for someone who works there to drop what they are doing to go look for your car and get the number for you. Check out this thread to start your search:

Own a 1998-2002 WS6 and want your ASC INFO??? Step Inside

To supplement TechCam97's reply, that is the ASC#, which reflects the sequence within a given model year, that ASC performed the WS6 conversion on that car. ASC (American Sunroof Corp) is the company that was subcontracted by GM to perform WS6 conversions from 1998 thru 2002. While very similar to SLP who did the SS conversions on the Camaro for Chevy (in addition to WS6s in '96 and '97), ASC did not offer additional performance options like exhaust or lids to be fitted to the Firebirds. For that on a Firebird, you needed to get a Firehawk (which was up-fitted by SLP).
