Possible 1/4 depending on options, I figured it was low but it may be very low,

Uh, there were only 4 '95 T/A Firehawks (RPO R6V) built w/ red leather interior. While your car has a "Ram-Air" hood, it does not appear to be a Firehawk (Firehawk hoods did not say "Ram-Air" AFAIK).

There was a total of 474 '95 T/As built w/ red leather.

Of the total 13072 T/A coupes built in '95, Artic White made up 2186 of them (16.7%). Assuming equal distribution of red interiors amongst body colors, you can estimate ~79 Artic White T/A coupes were built w/ red leather. Odds are, however, red leather probably did NOT come w/ green or blue exterior colors (at least not very often) and in fact may have been limited to white, black, red and silver cars (I'm not sure on this). In any case, the actual production of the white/red combination like yours is probably a bit higher. One way to know for sure is to pay CompNine the $5 (or whatever), run the numbers on your VIN and see if it allows you to select the RPOs necessary to tell how many white/red cars were built in '95.

Still, red leather is unusual.

Hey JohnnyB, in 95 all Hawks were Firebirds, the only T/As that SLP touched were the Comps! This car is obviously just a T/A with a ram air hood, probably a 96-97 ws6 hood. Still fairly rare with red int. though.

Right, thanks for that correction. All '95 Firehawks were Formulas. I erred in referring to the batch of 250 T/A coupes that also had RPO R6V (the same RPO all Firehawks got) as Firehawks, they weren't. Not sure why they got that RPO, but they were built. All Comp T/As were silver (and did not get R6V), so we know this car is not a Comp T/A.

Looking at the picture above more closely, you can tell the paint on the hood does not match the fenders, nose or headlamps so it was definately added by a PO.

Although, the red brake handle and shifter **** makes me a little suspicious, did cars w/ red leather come with those items wrapped in red leather too? I doubt the red speaker grill was originally red too. To confirm the car came with red leather, it should have RPO 702 or 703.

I noticed the hood color too! Also i know for a fact that camaros with red interiors did not have red shift *****, e-brake handles, or speaker grills! Does make you wonder if this car came with red seats or not for sure!

Johnny, I've looked at your charts at Trans Am World but I can't seem to break down the info for my car. Do you know how many '94 base (y82) Trans Am hardtops with a M6 were built? From what I can see the number shown combines T tops and hardtops.
Thanks, Tom

Unfortunately, if there's one thing I regret when making these Firebird breakdowns was not providing a M6/A4 breakout for the more base models like I did w/ the Camaros. I had created the Firebird breakdowns first, then the Camaros. I had planned on going back and splitting out the M6/A4 numbers for the more base model Firebirds, but by that time CompNine seemed to have caught onto the back door to their database that I was exploiting to get the numbers and "locked it up" (limiting access and requiring payment). You can try CompNine yourself to see if you can determine the exact number built w/ your combination. However with the data I've gleaned, all you can do is estimate based on multiplying percentages which assumes an equal distribution mix of options.

An estimate for your car would be:

Total '94 Y82 coupes: 5503
# w/ M6: 810 (14.72%)
# w/ HT: 1703 (30.95%)
Estimate w/ M6 + HT = 251

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info, I extrapolated a similar number that you came up with. I did query Compnine when it was free and my VIN comes up 1 of 1 but that's probably because of a rare cigarette lighter option or some such nonsense. I want to Thank You for your efforts in providing this information for the 4th gen community. Maybe one day these cars will be recognized for the rarities that they are.

Default 1999 Pontiac Firebird Keyless Remote Programming

My son has a 99 Firebird (6cyl) and he needed a new BCM so I got him a keyless entry BCM, which his car didn't originally come with. So now, when I get him a keyless entry remote, how do I program it? Will it work?
