LS1 to LT1 T/A Nose Swap?
Sorry if this is a repost--I searched and didn't find anything.
Anyway, my question is...has anyone swapped the nose of an LS1 bird for the nose of a LT bird? Call me crazy, but I LOVE the way the LT birds look! I think they look like a low flying jet/rocket compared to the more "kitty cat"-esque LS1 nose. Am I crazy? Any other LS1 guys feel this way?

I know it's crazy , but I think it's because I was a thirdgen guy for so long. I love the straight lines that I feel like my Z lacks...y'know? I think the combination of the 98+ beehive taillights with the LT1 nose and ws6 hood would look ******* awesome (with an lsx under the hood of course). And it'd have to be black with some black rims.
As soon as I pay down the loan on my Z, I might just have to make that

a friend of mine had a LT1 TA and swapped out the taillights for the 98-02honeycomb lights. which is what you're talking about doing the opposite of, taking a 98+ LS1 TA and swapping the front end. since most think the 98-02 front looks better i dont think you'd have trouble finding someone to do a direct swap with if thats what you want.

I can think of one problem you are bound to run into.... unless you are planning on going with the ram-air hood..... you are not going to be able to get the hood to close upon a LS1 air-box. It won't fit under the standard hood.

i agree with you, I like the LT1 WS6 style over the LS1 style, a bit too much flare for me.
but then again im biased lol
as wabmorgan said, i think the problem will be just the LS1 style lid.

I'm also partial to the 93-97 style. 98+ just doesn't look right to me. The headlights look like the wings of a bug or something. I do like the taillights better though and swapped my lt style for ls style. If I had found a 98 up bird or T/A I'd likely swap some body parts to get the look I prefer.

if you are really worried about hood clearance over the LS1 air box, perhaps you can either swap to a cold air kit, or just use a K&N cone air filter off the throttle body. there are several aftermarket CAI's that should allow you that swap. i have a 95 formula firehawk and i love that look!!!! there is just something about that sleek pointed nose with that buldge in the hood that just turns me on. and as far as people who dont like the LT1's, im sorry that you buy into the propaganda about them. my LT1 has yet to be outrun by any street LS1 or LS2 for that matter. my car is a daily driver so i only really compare it to other street daily drivers. it is definately not the fastest out there. hell, its not even the fastest LT1 out there, but it holds its own very well. just need to figure out how to beat a highly modded 87' GN and ill be all smiles all the time. lol
