Stupid of GM to not offer this in manual. If they truly want to compete with companies like BMW (who attracts driving enthusiasts) they need to offer a manual transmission. Hell they are cheaper then automatics anyways.
Decisions like this are the reason American auto companies are tanking

The reason GM does not offer a 6 speed in the G8 GT is because the L76 V8 has the DoD system. For some reason GM can't get the DoD and the 6 speed trans. to link up correctly. This is exactly why if you get a 6 speed in the 2010 Camaro SS you get the LS3, and if you get the auto you get the L76 engine. The only way you can get a 6 speed in a G8 is to get the GXP, which has the LS3.

Camaro A6's get the L99 engine. But you're right, the G8 GT doesn't come in a manual because the engine had DoD. DoD doesn't work with manual transmissions, the transition between 8 and 4 cylinders isn't smooth enough.

Ok so with the DOD delete you could do the swap then correct? ow we are going to be faced with the rear axle ratio. i am sure another quick search would yield this but what is the ratio in the GT?

I am considering buying a GT but if and only if I can complete the swap at a reasonable cost. Funny someone brought up the BMW aspect as I would be selling my M5 in favor of the GT.
