Default Picked it up yesterday

Drove it back from Dallas on 1/2 tank, about 230 miles and still drove it around town last night! I would have had to fill up my Mustang before even getting back to Houston. A minor con it has is that sport mode seems to be for only when you are lining up at the track or the light, and not for normal driving.Second, and also very minor, is a small hesitation from a roll when mashing on it, though that could have been because I had Stability Control engaged. The cons are nothing a tune can't remedy. When it does catch the right gear, it is a beast! The pros are that it is tight (no loose parts or vibrations), interior is classy and no big ***** that look outdated, the styling of the exterior, and of course the business end of the deal....the engine, plus really good gas mileage....atleast to me.

It has a lot of torque management and abuse management built in so the hesitation is likely Mr ECU saying "no"

Get a tune and some bolt-ons.

It will lose the hesitation.

+1 for the tune man...you can expect gains of upwards of 40 rwhp from an ECM/TCM tune. Not to mention you can make the shifts chirp 3rd at WOT

Is the VMS tune the best out there or is anyone using a handheld programmer?

i think a custom tune done on the dyno by professionals is the best thing available. go to someone you trust and let them do 10 pulls and some street tuning. dont mail away for it. just my opinion

The FlashXpress system from VMS allows a custom tune.

Not everyone has access to a dyno and a tuner.

My only problem is finding someone who knows how to tune a G8. There is one place I know of that used to do Fords then switched to GM cars. I might have to give that a shot.

You're in Missouri City, Tx?

Have you seen a red G8 tearing around?
