These numbers are "official" and were posted on one of the G8-dedicated forums, courtesy of Sellers Auto Sport (Sellers Buick-Pontiac-GMC).

Default numbering on dash
Not sure on how many were produced but I have "00 of 1500" logo'd on the dash of G8 GT.

It seems more than 1500 were made.

Is this just a promotion ploy?
