Default Thinking about a G8

I am thinking of selling my Grand Prix GXP and getting a G8. What kind of gas mileage should I see with a mix of city/highway? Also i live in in GA and get some snow how does it do in snow? Will I have to get snow tires for winter?
What kind of problems if any does the G8 have? Any help would be great.

Thanks Brandyn

Mix will get you around 20-22 mpg depending on how you drive it. I've gotten a best of 27.5 mpg on hwy only driving it very nice.

I get 22 in mixed driving, just have to pick when you want to get on it and not at every stop light. Common problems are Lower Control Arms, strange shifting in the transmission (2-3 flare), shaking in the steering wheel and some have had issues with the rear main seal leaking.

If it is your only car and you have to drive in the winter I would definitely get a set of winter wheels and tires. It will go good in the snow with the right rubber. Seeing you are in Georgia, you may be able to get by with a good set of all seasons, but not the stock Goodyear RS-A. They are junk.

It is a great car to drive.

18-19 city. i got 29mpg on a 120 mile trip. as someone who onced owned a grand prix gxp. you will love the g8 gt. i went from my gxp to a 2001 Trans am to a 370z. and the g8 gt just has the best blend of power, comofrt , and modding ability

The RSA's suck in snow. But, I have touring all seasons and they work great in light snow. My car has been on light snow many times. I travel to KS and AZ/NM in winter and don't have issues.

The G8 is a great car, you can't go wrong. The handling and power upgrade is impressive over a GP. The mileage is about the same.

I saw somewhere that chevy plans to re-release the g8 and rebadge it. in that case I'm sure in the future pontiac g8's will be worth a lot of money and even be collectibles.

I have found it best to stay off the roads in the south because they have no concept how to drive in the snow here. It is like a demolition derby even when there is a light dusting.

I have 2 more questions how is the rear end and the A6 transmission? The reason I ask is I'm either getting this or a CTS-V and I know the rear in the V is like glass.
