New to the G8 world. Recently got to an accident in my (ls4) impala ss and had been considering a g8 for a while so well see what happens on a few days after I hear from the insurance.
But I had recently got a set of 243 heads, ported ,milled (30 over) wit a valve job ,1518 springs,titanium retainers and ls6 valves which didnt make it on the car and was wondering if they would work on G8 GT?
Also anything I should look for when checking them out and making a purchase?

243 heads would work on the car, but you would also have to change out the intake. The 243 ported heads would only be marginally if better then the stock g8 heads. Get the g8 heads milled, cleaned up, valve job and they are night/day better then the ported 243 heads.

Make sure there's no vibration at highway speeds, this is a common issue with quite a few G8's and it's hard to eliminate. And make sure the trans shifts correctly, some have a 2-3 shift flare. Also some of them have suspension clunking in the front, but that can be fixed under the 3yr/36000 mile warranty.
I've had the front lower control arms replaced on mine and recently had the front strut bushings & bearings replaced, which was all done under warranty. Other than that I've had no issues at all with the car and I highly recommend buying one.

If I got an 08 it wouldnt have the warrenty? N doing a cai wouldnt void the warrenty ? Its been years since I had one. N thanks yu guys il pay close attention.

The 2008 G8 also has a 5yr/100,000 mile POWERTRAIN warranty. A CAI will not void the warranty. If they can prove that it damaged the motor then they can deny coverage for the repair, but they can't refuse to fix anything on the car just because it's installed.

The L76 doesn't have the lighter sodium filled valves, which don't make much difference unless you're gonna rev the motor above 6500 rpm. The heads on the L76 flow very well, so there's no need to replace them unless you're competing in the NHRA nationals for prize money.

If you're going to have the heads done have them install the hollow stem LS3 intake valves. This will help when you bump up the lift and the revs.
No need to hog out the L92/LS3 castings that come with the L76, they flow fine as-is. Get a five-angle valve job done, clean up the deck and call it a day.

I didn't mill mine at all. I just went with the Cometic 0.040 gasket swap - good for ~0.4-0.5 bump in static compression.
Be careful with milling these heads down too much on our cars - the piston comes out of the hole just enough to make you think twice, you have to account for that. Let's just say I wouldn't go any lower than 0.040 gaskets with the stock heads.
