Possible new G8 joining the family
 

Wife has gotten the bug. Her MDX is on the way out. And she wants a G8 GT.

I know the Basics of the cars but really not much at all.


Any pointers or help. Hers has to be sunroof(09s are standard right?). Has to be 09+. And pretty much HAS to be stryker blue.

Any input will be good. We just got home from cruisin tonight and she already has a test drive setup for a local black one just to see how she likes it.

09.5 in Stryker Blue can be found but not easily. Look for '9L3' in the VIN sequence, there were a lot of changes and improvements that went into the half model year that are desirable (LCAs tend to be more reliable, ECM code is a merge of LS3 goodies that went into the GXP, etc.)

she is ONLY going G8. Does that vin number deal go into the GTs or just the GXPs?

Sunroofs are not standard in 2009. Very hard to find one with a sunroof especially in SBM. It took me almost 6 months to find my 09 Black/black/sunroof with the sport package.

we are looking now. All are hikes or ship it bought site unseen.. kind of scary. But as long as the powertrain warranty is good to go. So should everything else.

I've got a 09.5 gxp, not sure an how different the GTs are but its a great car. Fun to drive and good for kids. My only complaint is my wife usually drives it instead of me.

Yes, all 09.5 models have 9L3 in the VIN sequence.

we drove two yesterday. love the car. Wife is having the color problem. SHe loves the Stryker blue. But thinks its too bright for everyday.

We actually have been looking at that one. Per the carfax. Its been at their lots since June. Kinda scares me. But we actually have a deposit on it. :)

think she is going with the dark gray now. C'mon now. A woman and colors. No talking to her works. She is just worried about the extra attention from the police type figures.

Silver is the stealth color :)

Color doesn't seem to matter that much to the police if your driving faster than traffic or just driving like shit. Which is easy to do with 400 hp on call.

I have a blue one coming in this week. 22,480 with 43k and sunroof if interested.
