Default G8 GT Value

Ok I'm looking to buy an 08 GT It's PBM Red/Black interior sunroof. It has 41557 miles. Car looks to be in great shape except mark on front bumper by license plate brackets like it rubbed something also a peeled decal residue on trunk, and the red part of the pontiac logo is missing on the trunk. Dealer is asking $23500 for it. Any thoughts on pricing?

Price is a little high, any mods done to it? Check out the sale section over on the G8board.com, you might find one cheaper. I'm selling mine for $21k, modded.
I would try to talk the dealer down to $22k out the door.

i agree, 22k otd is a good deal. if it's clean... get the bumper fixed as part of the deal also.. you're paying towards the top of the range, it should be absolutely clean.. my car has 110k on it and the paint is flawless.. i've had anything that was subpar stripped to bare metal and painted by the best... make them make it right for that money

best of luck.

This price is too damn high! lol. But seriously, shop around. A mid 40-50k mile model, with the stock accessories this has should be 18-21 at most. I wouldn't but it with the body rubs, clearly someone couldn't drive. There are literally thousands for sale accross the US in great shape.

I'm in the DFW area, and have been looking for one of these for a few months now. I would love to see some examples of the car you're describing in that price range. Not calling you out, but if they're out there I'm looking in the wrong places. Help me out-

Here's one right here in DFW for $21,9xx with 49k miles, and without any body scrubs and good options. A quick phone call and the guy was willing to buy my 2007 accord for KBB price ($10,500) and drop the price to "under $20k" at Courtesy Nissan, in richardson. Sorry it took me so long to reply, I missed there was one til today.

Offer $20k. They'll either sell you the car or they won't... haha.

I've driven mine daily through 4 winters and never got stuck with all season tires.

MUCH too expensive, but a nice example. What part of TX are you at? I will find you one cheaper.
PLUS! this article is lying to you. This is a gt, not a gxp, it should have the 6.0l L99 motor, 355hp, v-8 with DOD. The first one listed is a liquid red GXP BTW for slightly more than you listed the last one.

There is three links on Cars.com, there is also a couple listed right on here, but not in TX.

They took out the motor and installed a ls3.(You need to read the entire listing, it has like 10k of work done to it.The listing does not say it is a GXP. ) And the GXP you listed has almost twice the miles AND a wreck on autocheck.

In what world is a fender bender worse then a blown engine replacement? Not a total loss accident, yet you discredit a GXP over a customized GT out of warranty, as the GXP is still until at least January of 2014. Again, he is paying too much if he buys it. No word on mileage on the motor itself that donated. It smells of stolen property swap to me on the shops end. You could probably get that GXP for $24k out the door knowing it's history. To me that is a better deal.

Who said it had a blown engine? And yes I would take someone taking that L76 362 hp motor out and putting in a crate LS3 over a wrecked car any day of the week. How do you know it was a fender bender? I have seen cars that SHOULD have been totaled but insurance would rather put 15k in repairs to a car rather than total it. It is quite possible it has frame damage. Just replacing a quarter panel on a unibody car is considered frame damage. Plus when I would go to trade it in I am not going to get low balled for having a wreck on the reports.

Smells of stolen property? The story is in the listing. Dealer installed with dealer history. Plus you will get insurance rates of a GT and not a GXP.

Let me know if you find a GXP with 37k miles without wrecks for 24K and I will buy it.
