How to: Replace spare tire compartment Guys, I had to replace my spare tire on my G8. I did it myself instead of taking it to the body shop.
Its pretty easy actually. If you have a cold cut knife to cut the seal it would be easiest.

If you dont have the cold cut knife, then cut the tub around the whole way just where the plastic turns downward from the lip. After that, you'll have just the 'ring' sticking to the car. Wedge a knife under it, heat it, whatever gets it off there.
