Default possible engine swap

I'm pretty new to this but I may have the possibility of getting a used 5.7 LS1 pretty cheap out of a GTO. I'm pretty sure that putting it in the car will be pretty easy but as far as the ECU... that's where I have my doubts. Would I have to change it out? or just like flash mine?

On the side note I would be upgrading from the v6 engine. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

You need the entire package out of the GTO, Engine, harness, ECU everything you can get.. Pretty much from the dash cluster forward.. If you want to minimize the easter egg hunting..

You also have MUCH reading to do ,,, yes..

No.

These cars are swap nightmares when it comes to the electronics.

Buy a G8 GT, it's easier and much more cost effective.

If you google "Oreo G8", I think he went from a V6 to V8. A lot of work for sure.
