I just got my 09' G8 GT (33K miles) on the road after it sat for 7 years and am tidying up some issues. The main one being a rattle or clunking from top/top passenger side of transmission. I have a short video of the problem that would not load.....but essentially, if I rap on the bottom of the tranny then there is a clunk atop the transmission. Since I have no view or knowledge of what is there, I am wondering if anyone has any ideas for me and how to proceed? I can add that the motor mounts and transmission mounts appear to be intact and fully functional. It's too solid a clunk to be a heat shield (seems substantial) so what could it be???.......TIA !!!

If your car was sitting for 7 years, I highly recommend getting your injectors cleaned and tested! Don't want to hurt the motor in the long run
