Dad might buy a G8
Now its no GT, nor does it have a stick, but hey its better than his current Nissan Altima.
Man I went with him today to check it out and wow, these cars are nice.
Its a black exterior with 18" wheels split spoke. has the blaupunkt stereo with 6 cd changer and black leather interior.
Man i love how it looks like a beast from the front. He plans on buying it tomorrow he just wanted to put the sales guy's feet to the fire to see if he would drop the price a bit and take more for his trade in.
wish him luck guys
they asked me if I would trade my T/A for it and all I said was lulz

My parents bought my mom a G8 V6 in red with black leather, with the same options as the one your dad is looking at, except with a sunroof.
I absolutely love it. My first impression was that it is my absolute favorite car made by Pontiac right now.. my parents also owns a 2006 Pontiac Solstice and I actually prefer the G8 at this point in time, but I don't really have much seat time in the G8 yet.
For a V6, I think the G8 has quite a bit of pep. It can definately get out of it's own way. The GT is surely A LOT quicker, but for a DD for my mom, I'd say the V6 is plenty.
The fit and finish is excellent. I can honestly see why this car is compared to the 5-series BMW. The seats are comfortable, yet supportive, and the rear seats are pretty comfortable even for taller adults. I am about six feet tall, and I can sit back there pretty comfortably. The stereo is pretty good for stock, also.
Overall, I'm pretty satisfied with this car, although I don't have much experience with it as of yet, since it's only been at my house for about 12 hours haha

oh yea, I would say my initial impression was how high quality and really nice everything was both on the outside and inside for a mid-level model.
