Default Need some assistance, por favor

I just got the 04 YJ dropped off at my shop.
It has aftermarket 18x8 and 18x9 wheels, with the following tires on:
245/40/18 front and 265/35/18 rear.
The tires are shot so is this the best size to replace them with or
do you guys recommend a different size, please advise as I have to order tires like now!
This is a DD so should I go down to the stock 18" size in the front or not?
I do not want this to tramline around and we have some of the worse roads in the country
Also the radius rod bushings are shot, where in the US can I get the Pedders bushings or do I have to order from down under?
Your assistance to a newbie would be appreciated!
Jim

You can order the bushings from Wreched Motorsports. They are a very reputable co. Those size tires are good for a DD. Ive gotten 235/40, 255/40 on some 18X8.5s.

I'm a bit weird, usually I like to have a address and a phone number from someone I order from!
Their website has neither, I find that uncomfortable.
Is that too much to ask for?

you can call Andy at Kollar Racing Products. if you eMail him he'll give you a number to call. he carries Lovells RR bushes which are very good ones (essentially Noltec) and less expensive.

P.S. if you haven't replaced your front top strut mounts you may want to get those too. as they collapse your tire can rub on the strut

Thanks, the mounts or the bushing (or both)?
There seemingly is a rubber mount and the steel plate, which goes bad or just replace both?
(Do you think these too could be bad at 24k miles)?

I don't where in eastern PA you are located but try Rocksand Racing. They are a Pedders dealer and installer located near Allentown I think.

rocksandracingllc.com

I'd go with 275/35/18 in the back and use the same size you got in the front. Awesome setup.

I wouldn't order from wretched personally, just because rob...the guy that posts all the time on ls1gto.com to me seems like a dick. Frank Beck at rocksand racing is the guy to go to for pedders parts IMO.

One would have to be certifiable to run that large a front tire!
Awesome setup, I don't think so

the place is www.kollarracingproducts.com

the strut mounts go bad pretty quickly it seems. the strut mount is the rubber part under the steel plate. under that is the strut bushing. the Lovells part is poly and it comes with the strut bearings as a set. number (3) is the strut mount

245/40/18

You're retarded if you don't think 245/40/18 in front and 275/35/18 in back isn't a good setup for these cars. Thats what I have on mine and it fits fine and I'm lowered and it handles wonderfully. 245 is what comes stock on the 17's, why would you have to be certifiable. You're just uninformed.

I'm back you need to call me, I can't find the parts we discussed and the site won't let me order een though I registered, I don't know what's wrong!

In the meantime the car was delivered so I went out to where it is to check it out.
The rear wheels have such an offset the tires are almost sticking out of the wheel well! (18x9/5"!), not my style one bit.
I need to order some front end parts from Frank before it goes anywhere. 24K miles and the front end is trashed, even my trusy Volvos aren't this bad.
Two wheels are curbed, one real bad, (I saw it wen I bought it but I didn't realize it was as bad as it is, so I ordered a set of 18's x 8'" wheels (I forget what they are right now), a decent set of 5 spokers and a set of Bridgestone 245/40 18 RE960A ultra high performance all seasons all around, I don't want a staggered set of wheels and tires.
Not many wheels available for these cars.....

You don't want staggered wheels? Why not, just because of rotatability. The looks/performance of the staggered setup is way better than the old 19X8's and 18X8's I had.

You could probably sell your staggered setup for a good amount of money depending on what they are on the forums.
