Anyone got a lowered gto ?
hey just wondering if anyone has lowered a gto i kno its not the best idea just wondering what they look like if someone has it done and i had 275's on it right now on stock rims whats the widest you can go on stock rims and if you can go wider will the tire hit the fender when it squats when i launch or break torque it ?

i'm dropped 3/4" all around. the size tire depends on the brand as they vary quite a bit. Nittos run narrow, BFG run wide. i run 285s in the back with Firestone wide ovals. to do it right AND have the best success with it not rubbing you should get the rear stock wheels widened to 9 or 9 1/2". i had mine done to 9" at Weldcraft. it not only gives the tire the proper fit but it increases the offset so it pulls the tire in towards the middle of the car. i still had to mildly roll my fenders but i can squat it to the bump stops without rubbing.
BTW change your sig to "they're on the way" (contraction of "they are on the way")

My dad's Goat is lowered 3/8" inch with BFG 245's on 8" wheels upfront and raised 5/16" outback with BFG 275's on 9.5" TSW's. We had to trim the fender lips in the back so they wouldn't rub and the fronts actually just started to rub so they need to be cut as well. A proper cradle alignment will help ensure that things are straight out back.
If you rub just trim or roll the fender lip, whichever you prefer.

My 05 on stock suspension sits almost 1" lower than my buddies 04 on stock suspension and I can run 275 MT DR's without any rub. I've wondered if mine is lower because of wear and higher miles.

My buddies 04 GTO is running 275/40/17s out back rolling on Sumitimo HTR ZIII
on stock suspension and no rubbing anywhere, nor on lunches when it squats. And he said as the car gets higher mileage all of the goats start sagging in the rear. And he said the same thing as far as the sag due to being tied down when being shipped over. He's about to just lower the front to make it look clean, leaving the stock rear susp. as this lowering kit in the rear
Oh and that's on the stock rims

just a note that a cradle alignment does not necessarily center the rear wheels to the body. you can have it dead on and still be closer to the fender on one side more than the other. the build variances of these cars is all over the place
