Default Switch from manual to auto

Anyone have a guess at what the cost would be? And how much I could get for my manual to offset the cost? 42k miles with a monster stage 3 with about 2k miles of which 1800 of it is highway miles. I might be coming into some money and when I get a cam would love to do this at the sametime. I went to the track and really suck at driving a manual.

Done it! Got $1,000 for my M6 and I had a brand new SPEC Super Twin that sold for $900, that paid for the whole swap to the 4l60e. You can find the info over on LS1GTO.com in the Drivetrain section.
You can call my cell if you want to talk about it. 256-503-7920

Only thing is I'd like the auto to be able to handle a bit of power and if the one you listed is the one in the GTO it probably won't handle 550rwhp very long. I was planning on getting this done when, A. the money is here and B. at the same shop that will be doing the cam install. I live in El Paso so I would drop it off and fly back. But I won't travel over 800 miles.

Still debating with myself on that. Either way, SNL will be doing the work. I may switch to auto or have them reinstall my clutch with the SS lines, slave and remote bleeder.

I have 2k miles like I said but 1800 is all highway. And taking off slow it sometimes makes a weird noise and alot of the times the car shakes bad.

When I say I'm bad I mean bad. I ran last week at Houston Raceway Park. Weather was 55* and probably had a negative DA. With 125 wet shot, vararam, headers, street tires on STOCK TUNE I ran a 13.1 @ 111mph with a 2.2 60'. The best ET was 114mph with a (LOL) 2.7 60'.. Earlier in the year I was there and ran a 13.7 @ 106 with no nitrous in muggy weather.

Another GTO had just cam, heads (tuned), radials, A4 and ran a 10.9 @ 124mph.

God that car with what it has launches like a ****. I think he was getting 1.5 60's

The a4's with a few upgraded parts and rear diff have no problem handling 550 hp, they don't get the drive line shocked like an m6 car does.

Very true. And I more than likely will.. Maybe I will use that money and get better half shafts and get the t-56 built. So I can get drags and launch that bitch at 5k.

Not to mention the M6s advantage if you ever do a roll race. I was very very suprised at the outcome when i ran a Cammed, full exhuast, intaked and ported TB and IM 06 A4 GTO that was dyno tuned.

And yes he knew how to drive and we got a great even start, 40 till like 110 and he pulled about a half car! But at the track he runs 12.3s as opposed to my 13 flats and consistently.

Yeah, 6-spd is King on the street, even when the other car is significatly faster at the track.

Keep the T56 and learn how to drive stick better... The T56 will handle more power than the 4l60e... My buddies GTO has 15K mi and he just did a cam, 243's, Tune and a hundo shot and made 506/530 and blew his trans on the dyno... My other buddy is making 570/540 with his bolton, cam, maggied 05 and he has a M6 with just a LS7 clutch with no problems with the power.... Keep it...
