ummmm.... nothing.
The GTO will continue with the LS1. Part of the problem with the F-bodies is their performance level was a BIT too close to the C5... so they aren't going to be putting the LS2 in ANY vehicle other than the C6 for quite some time.

The Aussies have a thread on a GTO test mule with LS2.

We are talking about the 2v LS2 ..... the Aussies have been testing them for a long time. I wouldnt doubt it being in the 05's. I personally feel the price will be jacked up another $5,000 to $7,000

Well, if the price is another 5-7k, make it like the Mustang... You can get three distinct perforamnce levels, v6, gt, and cobra. That's something that GM missed with the last generation fbodies, the "performance" versions, i.e. WS6, SS, Firehawk didn't have any more real performance than the v-8 counterparts. Seriously, does anyone still beleive that an SS, WS6 or Firehawk is anything more than a body kit, rims and exhaust?
So let them put the new platform in a Judge GTO and make it a worthwhile investment. ****, we're talking probably 42k at that point.

The Austalians have or had an entry level supercharged V6 and the LS1. To get anything more you have to go to HSV. I would like to see GM add an optional engine for say $5K. Make it an LS2 or even the Z06 motor, certainly there's some of those just lying around.

Reckless,
The 1970 454SS Chevelle is the one and only time the General let another vehicle slip out with more performance than the vette of the same year. Vette owners started whinning and crying so Chevy put a nix on any 'Advertised' performance numbers that outdid the vette.

Don't forget that a Judge WILL be coming out eventually. I'd look to see some HSV performance numbers in it.

I don't see why the GTO wouldn't receive a version of the LS2 in the next year or so. I would expect it to be below the level of the same year Corvette. It might not though considering the GTO is a HALO car for Pontiac which is the "excitement" division.
I really wish the F-Bodies would have gotten a 400hp LS6 "hurrah" for their last year. ******** at GM..... I swear I'm going to buy a Ford just to get back at the ******..

As much as I love "The Judge" I wouldn't buy a new car now with that sort of graphic or badging. There was once a time that paiting a 6' wide bird on the hood was cool too, and if I had a '78 TA I would love to have the bird graphic on it as well, but not on a new TA. I think it would be more subtle just to call it the GTO 5.7 and GTO 6.0
I would be fine with $42K too if they cut 400 pounds off the car and made it out-handle an M3. $42K for 400hp@3800 pounds? I would be more inclined to see what the new body style Cobra has to offer at that point.

The LS2 is not corvette-exclusive like LT1 and LS1 first years. Look for it in the SSR, GTO, and Trailblazer SS for 2005. It's replacing the LS1 so it probably won't cost any more to equip these vehicles with an LS2. The retail prices may be a different story.
