Default G8 19" Wheels on GTO

I'm looking for pictures from people that have put the G8 19" alloy wheels on a GTO. I know there is some machining of the wheel, but who has done it?

Search ls1gto.com in the wheels/tires section. This topic has been beat to death over there.

Yeah I spent a lot of time over there today trying to use their search function. Only found a couple of threads and virtually no pictures. Of course, it may have been that spending 2 hours searching wasn't enough time to sort through the noise to find what I was looking for.

Man - there's no need to be an ***. So you found a thread that you yourself posted in. Congrats. I looked for quite awhile at that site as well as a couple of others. I found very little info or pictures and the info was conflicting.

Thanks for the help.

I like the looks of the G8 wheels on the GTO.

Wish I knew a shop that could do that without forking it up.

Surely it can't be that difficult. It's just machining the center bore of the wheel a little bit, right?

Right now, I have the VZ Monaro wheels on mine. I like the look of the 19" G8 wheels - they look like a 19" version of the VZ wheels but with a machined look to them. I think they'd look great on my MBM.

I realize it won't fit without modification. However, there are apparently people using them after having the center bore of the wheels machined to be a little larger. The offsets appear to be compatible.

LOL, obviously you didn't see the photographic proof and multiple GTO owners that have them and they are fitting?

Then they're running too wide a tire on the front...the all of the G8 wheels regardless of diameter are 8" wide w/ +48 offset just like the GTO's 8" wide wheels w/ +48.

a 245 in the front on stock wheels is a a crap shoot in terms of strut rub...some can do it and others can't. The ones that can't are stuck w/ either susp. upgrades, downsizing to a 235, running a 1/4" slip-over spacer, or saying f-it and getting aftermarket wheels. Stupid GTO wheelwells
